Other Operating Systems:
Red Hat Linux 9.0, Sun Solaris 7.0, SCO UNIX
SUN SOLARIS LAB
SUN Enterprise Ultra 10S Server,440 MHz ultra SPARC –Iii processor 256 MB RAM,2 MB cache,9.1 GB HDD,1.44 MB FDD,32X CDROM,I/O slots 4 CPI,17” Color monitor, SCSI CARD,104 kbd, mouse,DAT 8/12GB(4mm) DDS-unipack,32 bit 10/100 mbps fast ethernet card,SOLARIS 8 Operating ,Intel Switch 24 port, 15 Personal Computer (P-III) windows 98.All are connected in a client server architure (cat V cabling), CD writer – 2 (external – HP –7510E) LIPI line printer – 500 lpm,DMP 24 pin epson LQ1070+SUN scholor pack software (compilers).
128 Kbps FTDMA VSAT Facility
A small outdoor antenna (1.2/1.8/2.4 meters), a low power Out Door Unit (ODU), an in Door Unit (IDU) .The VSAT supports TCP/IP, X.25 and X.28 protocols. The IDU provides the interfaces for connecting the user's machines LAN port with UTP (RJ45) interface.
UGC – Infonet facility: A LAN established for 24 Computers, server etc., with 2 MBPS leased line, to access more than 6500 e journals.
University Management System (UMS)
In view of the importance of technological advancement and increasing dependence on IT, University has drawn its priorities on IT infrastructure and encouraging the use of IT in the University. Web Enabled University Management System (UMS) portal, is a concept of paper-less University, would definitely improve the work culture, efficiency, transparency, in the interest of end users. Examinations, degrees etc. processing and result access through web site is already been done by the university.
First phase of UMS covers the following six modules in an integrated manner is in the implementation stage.
1. Accounting and Financial Management
2. Human Resource Management (HR)
3. University Web Portal
4. Admission Registration and Examination Results(Main& Semester )
5. Library Automation
6. Store, Purchase and Distribution Management
